Sitar Maestro Soumitro Thakur will be the latest guest performer on the Maitri Project on July 27, at 7 PM IST. Soumitro Thakur has been playing the Sitar from a very young age, and has won numerous awards and honours on a national and international level.
Born in a family of musicians, this Ranchi based Sitar expert initiated in the world of music and sitar playing by his father Shri Uttam Thakur and later guided by his uncle Shri Prashant Thakur of the Bishnupur Gharana.
He continued his formal training under Sitar Maestro Pandit Kushal Das ji of the Maihar Gharana.
With many awards, accolades and recognitions in his kitty and a famous name in the world of Indian Classical Music, Soumitra Thakur continues his practice and research work in music from University of Delhi and shining with his performances all across the country at prestigious venues and festivals.
We are more than glad to invite and feature this amazing musician and a gem of a human on The Maitri Project again. Catch him live as he performs and interacts with us on 25th July at 7 PM IST.
