Kulbhushan Kharbanda

Kulbhushan Kharbanda has played nearly 100 major side characters in Bollywood films. HE was born on 21 October 1944 in Punjab, British India. He rose to prominence as the infamous bald villain ‘Shakaal’ in Ramesh Sippy’s ‘Shaan’ in 1980. Before that he starred in various parallel movies like Manthan (1976), Bhumika: The Role (1977), Junoon (1978), and Kalyug (1980). He has also worked in Punjabi films. Like Chan Pardesi (1980) and Mahaul Theek Hai (1999).

Before that, he was a theatre actor at ‘Yatrik’, a bilingual theatre repertory founded by director Joy Michael in 1964. Even after so many years, the continues to play important roles in films. Recently, he has appeared in films like Manikarnika ( in which he played Dixit ji), Soorma, Azhar, Brothers and Haider.

He is married to Maheshwari, an actress and the daughter of Maharaja Ram Singh II of Pratapgarh, Rajasthan.
